Through families ‘combat and the exceptional mobilization of the Telethon, AFM-Telethon has become a major player in research and development of innovative therapies for rare diseases affecting 3 million people in France. “For further progress in our fight against rare diseases and development of innovative therapies, we need to compel increasingly important funds. Also, this year we decided to reach new audiences, such as young people who are not in front of their television screens but on their tablets and mobile. This constantly connected young audience, have specific uses and behaviors. We have adapted ourselves to this hyper-connected target”, explained Monique Karkatcharian, Director of Communications and Partnerships at the AFM-Téléthon.

Every subscriber on a mobile plan with SFR, Bouygues Telecom and Orange* can already send a donation of 4 euros by texting "DON" to 92007, the amount being automatically deducted from the carrier bill. In the same way, it is also possible to make a donation of 2, 4 or 10 euros on the mobile site: https://telethon.allopass.com.
"We are proud to offer our expertise in aid of a cause as noble as the Téléthon. The establishment of this new donation method is the result of the strong commitment shown by our staff, who worked closely with the three major French mobile carriers.
The result has been a simplified method of payment for the donor that has been completely adapted for this nationwide operation” concluded Eric Giordano, HiPay COO.
