At HiPay, continuous performance optimization is one of our strengths: what does it mean on a day-to-day basis in your team?

Every day, continuous performance optimization mainly involves proactive monitoring of our merchants.

We monitor our merchants’ flows in order to track down fraudulent networks, as well as a number of KPIs such as fraud rates, chargeback rates, etc.

These various actions enable us to propose Sentinel optimizations to improve the success rate while protecting our merchants against fraud.

We also need to be constantly on the lookout for new fraud techniques, as fraudsters adapt very quickly to different regulations and are always trying to find new techniques to commit fraud.


Can you give us an example of a challenge you’ve met to better serve our merchants?

We had the case of a fraudulent network that was very active on two of our merchants.

The fraudsters mainly targeted one product for each of the merchants and made deliveries in the same city.

Working closely with the merchants, who sent us more information, we were able to use custom data and a combination of rules to set up specific rules to block the fraudsters.

This enabled us to target only the fraudulent network and block it without impacting legitimate customers, thus avoiding any deterioration in the success rate.

 

To conclude, any advice to our merchants for optimum results?

Information and understanding of the business are essential.

The more information merchants send us, the better we can anticipate and understand their needs, thus providing them with personalized support and guidance according to the risks identified.
